Before the Shoot
The first step in getting your headshot is scheduling a consultation. You’ll come to my studio and we will discuss the kinds of roles you intend to audition for, the appropriate lighting and look of your headshot, what to wear and how to prepare for the shoot. The consultation gives you a chance to meet me, see where we will be shooting and ask any questions you might have. Shooting a headshot is collaboration. Meeting in person helps you to feel comfortable working together with me as your partner. It also helps me to tailor the shoot to your needs. There is no charge for the consultation, and no obligation.
Once you decide to shoot with me as your photographer, you will need to make an appointment to set the day and time. A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking. After booking, you will receive a confirmation email that will include a style sheet, detailing wardrobe and grooming suggestions for the shoot.
The Days Before the Shoot
Try to get as much rest as you can. If you plan on getting a haircut or a facial, try to do that a week prior to your shoot date. The style sheet will provide a lot of specific advice on how to prepare. Basically, you'll be gathering your wardrobe and styling products and making sure that the wardrobe is clean and wrinkle free. If you like, put together a playlist of your favorite music on your iPod to bring to the shoot.
